Hello 90s

Hello 90s, I haven’t missed you. Fashion decided differently.

So readers, here we are at the verge of a trend called “90s now”. I was looking at my favorite websites like forever21.com, ae.com, pinterst.com, and cottonon.com. (Only to name a few) and seeing a new pattern.
It’s the time of flannel, cut off jeans, bright shirts and cropped short tops. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the 90s era of clothing. I am great full that I was a kid back then and not in high school.

I have talked in previous blog entries about the bright colors of this season. I was surprised by this latest trend alert. During spring break, I saw a girl at a local ice cream shop looking like someone straight out of the show Saved By the Bell.

So if you have decided to follow this trend I advise you to at least follow my list of outfit ideas:

Surviving the 90s Trend
1.       Be prepared for the cropped top. Last summer, they made an appearance in stores and again this summer they will be the hottest trend. My recommendation would be to make sure you have the body type that compliments this trend.
2.       Bring on the flannels. Go for the fitted and body flattering type.
3.       Go for the cute bright summer dress. They are short and form fitting.
4.       The last part of the trend is the cropped jean shorts. Go for the most flattering for your figure.
5.       Have fun…after all it’s just a trend. Not an era of clothing J
As the season begins to turn into summer, decide what you want to add to your wardrobe. Buy things that you’ll wear for more than a trend and if you really want to indulge yourself into the 90s trend than go to a local thrift store and find the diamonds in the rough.
Spring Break 2012

Like the time the “poncho” was popular now it’s the time of the “90s now”.
Enjoy for now because like all trends a new one is on the horizon.

Until next time dare to be the beach girl in cowboy boots.

Primary Colors Are Not Just For Paintings Anymore

Dear Readers!

Spring has sprung. The weather is warming up. Summer is just over the horizon.

A few weeks ago, I listed bright colors as one of spring’s newest trends. Today, I want to take the time to talk in greater detail about the use of bright colors in outfits. Before you change pages or call me crazy just take the time to read this entry.

Nobody should be afraid of colors. Rather think of color being used in any type of outfit. Bold colors can be mixed with white jeans, shorts, and pastels. Almost everything can be jazzed up or toned down by color.

How does someone go from neutral tone zone to the land of bright and bold?

The List of How to Go BRIGHT and BOLD:

1. Start by adding one signature bright color to an outfit. It can be a necklace, a bracelet or earrings
 2.     Next it’s all about keeping the same color family. If you are comfortable with red than try to wear pink with our outfit. If you like blue wear different tones of blue.

3.    If you are daring you can try wearing one extra bold color. Just something can really jolt a look.

     4.  If bright and bold isn’t your thing you can always go with pastels this season. They are toned down compared to their color wheel counterparts. You can use the same techniques I listed in 1-3 to incorporate pastels into your wardrobe.
5.     HAVE FUN.

Enjoy the season of spring and shake a leg. Dare to be the girl in cowboy boots.

Let's Play Ball

Hello Readers!

Surprisingly, I am posting on Monday instead of Tuesday. (Shocker I know.)
April = Month of Insanity School Crunch Time.

It’s the four and half week crunch time before graduation on May 6, 2012.

The good news: Friday, April 6 starts BASEBALL SEASON.
I am huge fan of sports but baseball takes the cake.

List of Favorites:
1.      Baseball: The Tampa Bay Rays
2.      College Football: Mississippi State University Bulldogs, University of South Florida Bulls, University of North Carolina Tar Heels, Florida State University Seminoles and Clemson University Tigers
3.      College Basketball: See Above List
4.      NFL: Houston Texans :)

Anyways, now you know my favorite sport teams. Each one holds a special place in my heart along with a good memory.

Baseball is great family friend sport. I wanted to pass along some useful tips on how to dress up for your favorite teams opening day!

Survival Tips for Opening Day:
1.      Wear your team’s colors with pride. (Baby Blue and White for me)
2.      Try to find and wear a jersey/t-shirt/baseball cap
3.      Keep a positive attitude
4.      Remember your catcher’s glove
5.      Bring a camera for those lasting memories

Baseball is an easy game to follow. I would recommend looking up some terms, stats on the teams and getting your feet wet if this is your first season. Wear the right team colors and looking the part is essential to the full baseball experience. I would recommend buying a hotdog and crackerjacks.

I will leave you with baseball bloopers.
(Hope you enjoy!)

See you on the baseball field!
